1.) Export the most current estimate to EMS in the estimating system.

2.) Insert a calendar entry using an EMS file.

3.) Convert the calendar entry to an RO.

4.) Import the estimate into Rome.

5.) Check the order parts checkbox if you want parts ordered.

6.) Check the appropriate location for Vehicle designation.

a.) If the car is on-premises you check the Cust/Auth & Cust/Ins boxes once and turn them yellow. If you are still awaiting authorization you do not check anything else. If you have all the Authorization, click the boxes again and turn them green.

b.) The Blueprint button will automatically turn yellow meaning the vehicle is waiting for a teardown to be done and a supplement to be written. Once this is complete click the Blueprint button and it will turn green.

c.) The Dispatch button will automatically turn yellow meaning we are still waiting on mission-critical parts.

d.) Check In-Shop if all the parts are here and the tech has been assigned and the car is being worked on.

7.) Make sure the Insurance, Writer, and Source fields are correct.

8.) Make sure the following dates are correct:

a.) Date In – This is when the car will arrive at the shop or when it did arrive at the shop.

b.) Date OP – This is the original date you told the customer the car would be finished.

c.) Date In Shop – This is when the techs started working on the car if they haven’t started working on it yet it is left blank.

d.) Date Due – This is the current date the car is expected to go home.

9.) Payment info in the Remarks field.

10.) Print out Windshield ticket.
